Bernard-Henry Levy, famous French writer and philosopher, and Florence Hartmann, journalist and ex-spokeswoman for the former ICTY Chief Prosecutor Carla del Ponte, visited Gallery 11/07/95. After visiting the gallery and seeing the exhibition, Levy emphasized that the world did not afford enough attention to the Srebrenica genocide and that this was one of the main motives for his visit to the Gallery.
Florence Hartmann, to whom this visit was not the first one, emphasized the importance of the Gallery and its role in the struggle for the truth. “Mass crimes were always done in silence and out of sight. These photographs and this Gallery are one of the ways, and there are not a lot of them, which allows the dead to speak and that crime is acknowledged”, said Hartmann.
